Located approximately 4 km’s north of Sydney CBD, one of the Lower North Shore’s harbourside suburbs.

This area main transport system are buses with only one route via the station and rail linking it to the North Shore and Northern lines.

Wollstonecraft was named after Edward Wollstonecraft, the first settler to receive a land grant of 500 acres (2.0 km2) in the area, in 1821.[2] Wollstonecraft said that he left England to escape the notoriety of his aunt Mary Wollstonecraft, the author of A Vindication of the Rights of Woman

There is an abundance of parks and bushland walks in the area

  • Brennan Park is home to a shaded childrens playground on Hazelbank Rd.
  • Berry Island Bushland Reserve, located down Shirley Rd and only a 10 minute walk from the station. Named after Alexandra Berry, the sister of the founder of Wollstonecraft, Edward Wollstonecraft. On this walk you can see Aboriginal midden sites, watering hole and rock engravings.
  • Gore Cove Reserve, Milray Ave.

Unlike its neighbour bustling Crow’s Nest, Wollstonecraft doesn’t offer much in the way of café’s and restaurants. Its only claim to fame being two located at the station: Le Vieux Paris and Wollstonecraft café. There are also no schools here however Bowling enthusiasts are in luck because you can find one here at 7 Russell Street. (http://www.wollstonecraft.bowling-club.org/)
